Party Pilipinas is a Failure in the ratings game!

My gosh! We expected a better result for this new GMA show since a lot of people we know really watched its first episode (although almost all of them were disappointed).

Here are the numbers last Sunday:

AGB: Party Pilipinas (GMA-7) 15.5%; ASAP XV (ABS-CBN) 17.4%

TNS: Party Pilipinas (GMA-7) 14.5%; ASAP XV (ABS-CBN) 18.5%

Ouch. What will Janno say now? To remind you, here's his rap song during SOP's last episode:

Itong ASAP tuwang tuwa ngayon
Uh-oh. What now? They came back with their best and they still lost. How sad. Karma is really a b*tch.

Angel Locsin defends herself on "lasinggera" and "layas" issues!

Here are what Angel said on The Buzz yesterday:

On what's happening between her and his dad

On her drinking alcohol

“Kailangan ko ring ma-experience talaga, eh. Sa group ko, sa friends ko, sa career ko rin kasi may mga bagay na hindi mo naman basta pwedeng iimbento ang emosyon, ‘di ba?”

At the end of the interview, Angel thanked all those celebs and fans who are defending her against the issues.

What we think? Angel should just laugh at these issues. Obviously, these are just being made by those stupid people who are jealous of all the things she has. What, the girl is super active on such organizations as Red Cross and has done lots of stuff to help others. If ever she decides to go out and drink until she's wasted, so what? She's not hurting anybody and she's not compromising her career so what's the problem? Sigh.

What can you say about this?

Mga KAPATID, here's the Station ID of TV5!

You like?

Whew! Here's what we think about Party Pilipinas!

Is it better than SOP?

Yes. It has this more modern, club-like feel which we like better than SOP's fiesta set. The songs and dances are more modern and updated too.

The cast?

We were a bit disappointed. It's the same SOP gang with just a few new faces which aside from Mark Bautista, we didn't really care much about.

XLR8 were not that good in their sing and dance number and Fusion was not really AMAZING. LOL. Vhong Navarro and a lot of Pinoy dancers can do better than him. Accept it.

We loved the addition of the UP and Ateneo dance troupes. It's a great idea but was already thought of by ASAP years ago by inviting the UP pep squad and other groups to dance in their show. We would love it if Party Pilipinas will keep featuring these guys though. They're so fresh and nice to watch.

We loved the song number by Frencheska and that other girl where they sang Yellow by Coldplay. They should do more numbers like that.

All things considered, we think the show is a HUGE improvement for the SOP people. In fact, we watched it more than ASAP's pre-taped Boracay show which was also great and all but there were too many lip synching and bad dancing again. They should remove those annoying stars who can't dance or sing. Or at least just make them do the hosting.

We think Party Pilipinas is one step closer to the level of ASAP but we still have to see the difference next Sunday when ASAP goes back to the studio where they really shine. Party Pilipinas is gonna do a pre-taped episode in Araneta on Tuesday right?

Sigh. We love the idea of having a nice alternative when Ejay Falcon is dancing or the Kapamilya loveteams are looking stupid lip synching on ASAP.

Welcome Party Pilipinas!

P.S. The show has almost all GMA stars but it still lacked the "It" factor. Agree?

Since we found out that our readers are all HOT..

We're thinking we should feature two readers, one male and one female every week!

How 'bout that? We'll post your photos here and we'll see what the others think.

You can send us a message on Facebook with a link to your hottest photo and if we like it, you'll be the Hottest Guy/Girl of the Week!

What do you think?

Wowowee and Agua top the National Ratings!

Unlike the AGB Mega Manila Ratings, the TNS National ratings is very consistent with ABS-CBN shows being the constant winners. We think this will go on for a long time unless GMA tries harder to make quality shows.

Agua Bendita is Unmoved in Mega Manila ratings!

Wow. Eat Bulaga is really having a hard time defeating Showtime in Mega Manila. GMA's strongest noontime show was defeated last Tuesday and Thursday by Showtime. We think they'll be the happiest once the show gets suspended again.

What will GMA do about Agua Bendita which is rocking the primetime rankings at No.1? Will they put more stars to the weak Panday Kids? Or Change the arrangement of their Primetime shows? Beats us.

Maybe their only hope will be to wait for MTRCB to give a suspension order for Agua Bendita sometime soon. Kidding. Here are the figures courtesy of AGB and pep:

Teaser for Dingdong-Marian movie: You Like?

The movie is called You To Me Are Everything. Hmm. Not much of a trailer but we now know its a romantic comedy. Interested?

Ruffa on the Shaina-John Lloyd affair: "I knew about it a long time ago since August 2009!"

Is she confirming the relationship between the two?

When asked about the John Lloyd and Shaina issue, she said, “Well, there’s nothing to react about. I knew about it a long time ago since August 2009. So,wala namag dapat ipag-react.”

Was she the last one to know?

“No, I mean, we’re friends before and we’re friends up to now and there’s really nothing, as I said please don’t put me in an imaginary love triangle because there’s really nothing. Basta I’m always the first to know, remember that! I’m never ever the last to know.”

ASAP and Party Pilipinas will finally have a showdown tomorrow!

Here are the teasers for both shows:

Which one will you watch?

What the.. MTRCB pushes to suspend Showtime again!

Still because of Rosanna Roces' remarks on the show, the MTRCB will again suspend Showitme, Magpasikat and any other similar show. And we're like, what?

Err. Here's abs-cbn's statement regarding this matter posted on pep:

Celebrities react on the Anne Curtis scandal!

Mariel Rodriguez on abs-cbn.com:
“Oh my God! This is terrible! This is even beyond terrible! Grabe na talaga. Hindi naman ito basta napunta sa isang tao. May nagbigay din. ‘Yung nagbibigay, nagpapakalat… How do you even sleep at night?!”

Vice Ganda on facebook:
"I strongly appeal to all my facebook friends to please stop and condemn the posting/viewing of Anne Curtis' controversial pics and videos when she accidentally had a wardrobe malfunction during a number in ASAP. Anne deserves everyone's respect not because she's a celebrity but because she's a woman just like our moms and sisters."

Iya Villania to Anne on twitter:
"We love u lovey! Keep your head up! :) *hug*"

Bianca Gonzales on twitter:
"Those spreading anne's photos, would you want your sister, mother, daughter to be treated that way? diba hindi? please respect. please stop."

Well congratulations!

Bong Revilla is STILL NOT over with Hayden Kho!

Now this is getting quite overboard. In an interview with abs-cbn.com, Sen. Bong Revilla revealed that he's still got lots of plans for Hayden Kho. Here are some of his statements:

On Vicky Belo's statement that he's using Hayden to attract attention

‘Yung ayaw nating parusahan. Kaya dapat maibigay ‘yung hustisya kay Katrina. Siya ‘yung nababoy, e. Tapos baka siya pa ‘yung naging masama in the end.”

ERR. There he goes again with the repetitive BINABOY term. Sigh. And here's more:

On the information the senator received saying Hayden's having some drug transactions in his restaurant
“Iimbistigahan natin ‘yan. Ayaw natin ng ano, pero basta illegal na gawain na ganu’n, aaksyunan natin. ‘Yung sa Cavite lang nagsinungaling din siya doon. Mino-monitor din natin ‘yung mga galaw nila e.

Well, here's something to think about Senator: SINCE YOU SEEM TO BE SPENDING A LOT OF TIME MONITORing SOMEONE LIKE HAYDEN KHO, HOW ABOUT USING THAT TIME TO RUN AFTER CORRUPT GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS OR GIANT DRUG LORDS OR MURDERERS instead? SOMEHOW, THOSE PEOPLE HAVE DONE MORE HARM THAN HAYDEN. WHAT, DOES THE CRIME OF MAKING A SEX VIDEO DESERVE MORE ATTENTION THAN MURDER, CORRUPTION, KIDNAPPING, ETC?

We don't know. But this Hayden thing is going old for us. And our country has MORE IMPORTANT problems than that. We haven't heard the good senator doing something about the Maguindanao Massacre. The Abu Sayyaf. The Problems in the Education System. Not even in the very high unemployment rate here in the Philippines.

What do you think about this?

Gosh! We DISAGREE with this a LOT!

What's wrong with Alfie Lorenzo? Here's his outrageous opinion on the Anne Curtis scandal from abante-tonite.com:

MATAGAL nang pinalulutang na diumano eh nagkabalikan na ang dating mag-sweetheart na Anne Curtis at Sam Milby now that they are back into each other’s arms simply becoz may movie silang ipapalabas na sa Black Saturday na “Babe I Love You”.

Then, the unexpected happened.

Naging talk of the town tuloy si Didith at sumikat nang husto. So hayan at ‘yan ngayon ang scandal of the year na nagpalubog sa dukot-balls ni Angelica Panganiban sa balot-penoy ni Derek Ramsay.

Kaya may promo slant na ang movie nila ni Sam na “Babe I Love You”. So, the sweetness of Anne and Sam will last until the movie’s showing. Kaya si Sam moved on to his next assignment. ‘Yung concerts nila abroad ng ka-heartthrob niya. Tapos na ang pakiyeme sa publiko. So what happens when Anne Curtis starts shooting her movie with Richard Gutierrez?

What?

Isn’t there anything they can use to promote a movie at kailangan ang matinding eskandalo para mapansin at mapag-usapan ang pelikula? How so typically Filipino noh!

Well, the only reason why we liked this man was because he was a good manager to Juday. Now, we don't know if that's enough for us to forgive these nasty remarks from him.

Ogie says Party Pilipinas will tour the Philippines and the whole world!

Here's what Ogie said on Chika Minute:
“Excited kaming lahat for Party Pilipinas because matagal naming pinaghandaan ito. At sa March 28 lalabas na... Maglilibot kami sa buong Pilipinas, lilibot kami sa buong mundo. So Party Pilipinas will be a party of lahat ng mga Kapuso sa buong mundo."

Err, really? LOL. This is what we mean when we say some GMA people are just out of control when they praise their own shows. They should try being more realistic. Party Pilipinas has not yet proven anything yet and here they go with their ambitious press releases.

PP might be good but don't raise the expectations too high because you may just fall short in the end.

Vice Ganda is the FIRST Pinoy to get 1 Million Fans on Facebook!

Yup. The Showtime judge and stand-up comedian now holds a major record: He is the FIRST EVER FILIPINO to get one million fans on facebook with 1,060,540 as of March 24, 2010!

Even popular presidentiable Benigno "Noynoy" S. Aquino III falls short with 986,922 while Manny Villar is third with 951,415 fans!

ABS-CBN soap operas continue to be shown in more places abroad!

The unforgettable love story of Yna and Angelo is fascinating millions of people abroad as the ABS-CBN soap opera continues to be sold to other countries. In fact, Pangako Sa'Yo or The Promise is being watched by around 1.3 Billion Chinese at present! The show is now 10 years old but is still being aired in China, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Cambodia!

According to Reena de Guzman Garingan as posted on pep.ph, "We have proven that the Pinoy brand of work is really one of a kind, and something you all should be proud of as Filipinos. Gusto niyo bang mapanood ang French Version ng Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay? In English, it's called The Long Way; and in French, it's called La Longue Attente. So, maganda bang pakinggan? We have carefully done it in many languages..."

She shared that 30 ABS-CBN shows are being sold to "15 countries in Asia, 5 countries in Europe, 12 in French-speaking African countries, 20 English-speaking African countries, and 5 Portuguese-African countries."

The most recently sold ones are Tayong Dalawa or The Two of Us (which was sold in Malaysia, Brunei, and Kenya), Lobo or She-Wolf: The Last Sentinel, and Dahil May Isang Ikaw or Destined Heart.

These facts make us PROUD to be Filipinos! It's like we're showing the world that our craft can also capture the hearts of audiences in other countries!

And oh yeah, it proves that ABS-CBN shows are really of HIGH quality. Let's see what GMA fans will say about this.

Angel Locsin and John Lloyd Cruz's teleserye is tentatively titled "Immortal: Lobo 2"!

The TV show will have a vampire/wolf/action/fantasy theme which is quite interesting for us. In fact, the vampire thing is so hot right now in the US and we think it's gonna work in the Philippines too!

Here are other upcoming shows from ABS-CBN announced in the trade show conducted by the TV network in Boracay:

Melason in The City
This will be the follow-up of Melason in Love which we think will feature Melai and Jason's life outside the PBB house.

The next round of “Mga Alamat ni Ramon Revilla”
After Gerald Anderson, Jolo Revilla, Coco Martin and Jake Cuenca, another batch of ABS-CBN young actors will take on the former roles of Ramon Revilla in his old movies. The three lucky stars are Jolo Revilla, Enchong Dee and Rayver Cruz. Yes, Jolo will do another part of the series which is just right because after all, he's a Revilla.

Magkaribal
This will be Gretchen's new show on ABS-CBN where she will be paired with Derek Ramsay and will also feature Bea Alonzo. Claudine was supposed to do the role of Bea but she's a Kapuso now and that makes it impossible for her to still do the project.

Do you like these shows?

Aww. We're sorry for her!

We feel that it's not really cool to spread this photo so we decided not to post it here. However, if you're really interested, click here. One of Anne Curtis' boobs were accidentally shown during one of her numbers last Sunday on ASAP Boracay episode.

A lesson for celebs: Be very careful with what you wear. More so if you'll be moving a lot in them.

Anyway here's a message from Veronique del Rosario-Corpus, general manager of Viva Artist Agency:

"We are appalled by the behavior of some people who have irresponsibly posted over the internet a photo of our artist, Ms. Anne Curtis Smith, taken during the taping of one of her production numbers for ASAP XV. What happened during the taping was an unfortunate accident. Nothing was done intentionally. Anne was merely doing her best to deliver a solid performance as an artist.

"It is disheartening to discover though that certain people have taken advantage of the situation, maliciously uploading the photos over the internet. Worse, participating in the proliferation of the same over the net.

"Obviously, some unscrupulous individuals have capitalized on this misfortune and consequently exploited our artist whose only fault was to do her job well.

"We appeal to these individuals, please have a little respect and decency to stop posting the photos and distributing the same. Think of your sister, your mother, your wife, and your daughter. Have a heart."

It's good to know that there are still some Kapuso's and TV fans out there who still have an OPEN mind and still know how to differentiate good shows from the bad. We should watch TV shows because they are entertaining and of good quality and not just because they come from our favorite TV network!

Will these boys bring HOTNESS to Party Pilipinas?

Pinoy boyband XLR8 will join Party Pilipinas on March 28. Will they be able to help the show? They sure look promising in this video.

ASAP wins back Sunday daytime top spot! Your Song does well too!

Amazingly, AGB Mega Manila and TNS National had almost similar results last Sunday. ASAP is again the strongest daytime show while PGT is clearly primetime's best.

Your Song presents "Isla" featuring Gerald Anderson and the PBB housemates also did very well considering that the show was pitted against a movie.

We've been saying this for a long time now and we'll say it again: GMA has a very poor Sunday line-up. We hope Party Pilipinas will be able to change that next week. What do you think?

ABS-CBN tops all Saturday Rankings except Mega Manila Primetime!

Although Showtime has enabled ABS-CBN to steal the daytime lead from GMA, it still did not manage to dominate Mega Manila primetime last Saturday with PGT landing only third place.

However, in the National rankings, ABS-CBN has no problem at all.

The FPJ movies need to be replaced soon. Those movies are not really that appealing anymore. In fact, it has been defeated by Wish Ko Lang both in Mega Manila and National.

ABS-CBN wins Ratings game both in Mega Manila and National last Friday!

GMA lost to ABS-CBN bigtime last Friday. Wowowee and Agua Bendita took the number one posts both in AGB's Mega Manila and TNS' National rankings! In Mega Manila, Diva is now GMA's strongest primetime show placing third behind Agua and KTM. Meanwhile, The Last Prince was GMA's strongest show in the National ratings placing fourth in the primetime rankings.

24 Oras has been defeated by TV Patrol both in Mega Manila and National. Hmm. GMA is SO NOT the No.1 Network in the Philippines anymore!

Are these really GMA's SID for Summer 2010?

GMA has released two videos which seem to be their station ID for this summer. “Sama-Summer Na Sa Kakulitan” for their comedy shows and “Sama-Summer Tayo Sa Pag-ibig” for their dramas. You like?

Err. We hope these are not yet their REAL SID. These ones are too shallow for us. Cute but not much of a Station ID.

OK, here's a rundown of some interesting Showbiz tidbits!

1. Maxene Magalona announced on twitter that her loveteam with JC Tiuseco is over. She said they're not talking to each other right now. Then added that it's because they're too busy.

TVP: Maybe it's because the loveteam was not a hit. People will NEVER be too busy to talk. It's either there's no reason to talk, or you're just not interested.

2. GMA is very serious with Party Pilipinas. Richard Gutierrez was personally taught by "Fusion", their choreographer. All artists are required to wear flats or rubber shoes for practice. No high heels.

TVP: Hmm. We can't wait for March 28. Judgment Day for Party Pilipinas. They might get HIGH ratings for their launching day. We're not sure about the following weeks.

3. Cristine Reyes is going to have another show in ABS-CBN.

TVP: Sure, we'll watch that. Cristine was SO HOT on ASAP last Sunday!

More Shaina-John Lloyd intriga from Kris!

Looks like these two really have something going on. Kris shared on abs-cbn.com that she saw the two of them in a mall. She said, “That was the one day na nakapunta kami ng mall dahil na-pack up ang taping namin ng Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo. Ang malas ng dalawang ‘yan ako ‘yung… of all people [na makakakita sa kanila].”

“It’s a statement already and kasi wala silang kasamang iba. It’s just the two of them. Normally anggagawin ‘pag medyo ‘di pa kayo sure barka-barkada it’s just a group kapag kayong dalawa lang… all smiles sila.”

“Karapatan po ni John Lloyd at Shaina na maging masaya. They are not married to other people.”

And we agree. They're dating, so what? We think these two have proven their worth as actors and they can survive Showbiz without being tied to loveteams so they can do pretty much what they want when it comes to their personal relationships. Agree?

So what can you say about ABS-CBN's latest SID?

We don't think it's the Kapamilya Network's best Station ID yet but WE LOVE IT! It's still fun and very summery but it has the social relevance that Kapamilya Station ID's always have. We also found the top-view effect cute and creative!

What do you think?

Hey! You still there?

We love you all SO MUCH that it really affects us when you're disappointed. Honestly, we don't know what to do now because we will be SO BUSY for the next months because of some IMPORTANT events in our lives. But we really, really love to keep sharing to you what we're hearing about about and what we feel about them. We guess, we'll have to go back to our blogsite. But forgive us if we won't be able to update as often as before. Anyway, we'd like you to know that we're really thrilled by our temporary facebook stint because we saw the faces of the people who visit us everyday and we're just so happy. Party Pilipinas hires International Choreographer!

This upcoming show from GMA has been generating lots of curiosity because the final cast of the show still not being revealed. However, we're sure that many of the faces we've seen on SOP will also be in Party Pilipinas. In fact, we think the show will still be like SOP.

However, some changes may be seen courtesy of the pressure on the staff and the cast to put up a good show. In fact, they even hired Ruben Monet a.k.s Fusion, an international choreographer who has worked with Beyonce, Akon, P. Diddy, Missy Elliott, Ludacris, Justin Timberlake, Backstreet Boys and Will Smith.

Can't wait to see the show!

March 13 and 14 National Ratings: Pacquaio fight tops Sunday Ratings but other GMA shows still weak!

ABS-CBN occupied all the Top 8 spots in the whole day rankings last Saturday obviously supporting the fact that ABS-CBN is the No.1 nationwide.

Although Pacquaio's fight was way up there in the No.1 position, it was not able to pull other GMA shows to the top. ABS-CBN shows still occupied the second up to the sixth spots.

For sure, ABS-CBN's complete domination will return next Sunday. Agree?

March 14 Mega Manila Ratings: Pacquaio Fight brings a strong win for GMA!

Pacquaio is GMA's hero. His fight lifted almost all GMA shows last Sunday making possible the win of Zooperstars, Showbiz Central, and other GMA shows against their ABS-CBN rivals. It laso crushed ASAP rendering the otherwise strong show powerless with a ridiculous 6.4% rating.

The Pacquaio magic continued its effect up to Primetime pushing 24 Oras to the top!

The BIG question now is, WILL GMA BE ABLE TO REPEAT THIS WIN NEXT WEEK?
Here are the figures courtesy of pep.ph:

March 13 Mega Manila Ratings: Failon Ngayon is 4th in Daytime; GMA loses in primetime!

Last Saturday, Eat Bulaga was No.1 knocking down Wowowee to 3rd place. However, it is still not a good win for GMA since 4 out of 5 of the Top5 shows in Daytime are ABS-CBN shows.

GMA played worse in Primetime with PGT topping the list and Bitoy's Funniest Videos and Pinoy Records falling to 10th and 9th position. It is really time for BFV to go. Here are the numbers courtesy of AGB and pep:

Bulatlat.com has great words for Angel Locsin!

The alternative journalism website released a really nice article for Angel today. Here it is:
Angel Locsin, Advocate for Women and Environment

She was voted the most beautiful Filipina of 2009. Her face adorns the billboards along Edsa. She has huge presence in both television and radio with her shows and advertisements. She has bagged various recognitions and awards for her performances.

She may be one of the brightest stars in Philippine TV and cinema, but when asked which among her accomplishments she was most proud of, Angel Locsin proudly says it is the “opportunity to influence people on issues that affect their daily lives, such as issues on poverty and concerns on the environment.”

Angel’s performances are widely applauded for the depth and intensity she exhibits in them. Her realistic portrayals, however, are not only the result of rigid workshops. She draws from her “deep and broad understanding of the realities of life which she herself bore witness to.”

Her strong affinity toward the cause of women, most especially those living in poor rural areas, and her advocacy for the protection of the environment are among the many reasons Angel participated in several of the organization’s activities and campaigns and even endorsed Gabriela in the past elections.

And we agree. You?

Will you go see Aljur Abrenica's Sexy First Concert?

On March 26, Aljur Abrenica will hold his first concert in Zirkoh Tomas Morato. And since he's not really popular for his singing, he'll try to lure audiences with a sexy theme. The half-naked poster and the show's title "I'm Yours" would give you the idea.

He said on pep.ph, "Iniimbitahan ko po kayo na manood ng aking first major concert. Sa March 26 po 'yan. It's a hot Friday night at 10 p.m. Sa inyong sa inyo po ako, I'm Yours. May mga special guest po ako. Sana makarating kayo dahil kakaibang Aljur po ang makikita n'yo rito."

Hmm. What could be the "kakaiba" thing he's talking about. We've already seen him in trunks. Will he go a little further?

Erich Gonzales looks fab in the cover of A&F!

Let's face it. This girl is the HOTTEST among her batchmates in Showbiz. In fact, we think she's even more in demand than Kris Bernal these days. Did Kris ever appear solo on a magazine cover? Seriously, they are the ones who should be matched. Kim Chiu is already in a higher level.

Maricar Reyes and Enchong Dee both end up First in Star Magic Fun Run!

Who knew Maricar Reyes was also good in athletics? Well, now we know. She was the first female to get to the finish line of the FIVE-kilometer run in Star Magic's Fun Run.

Enchong Dee was the first in the boys' division followed by Nico Antonio and Carlos Agassi.

Enchong finished the 5-kilometer run in just 21 mins and 44 secs.

Vhong comments on Angel's pull-out from Kokey!

Here are Vhong's statements in an interview with abs-cbn.com:

First time nga lang na magte-teleserye kami.”

Hmm. We're really unsure about this Kokey thing. Will it be a hit?

Rocco Nacino is Cosmo Hunk of The Month for April!

Looks like Starstruck's 2nd Prince Rocco Nacino is already one step ahead of his co-finalists Enzo Pineda and Steven Silva.

The registered nurse has already done a photo shoot for Cosmopolitan PHilippines for the Cosmo Hunk of the Month for April.

He also auditioned for a third party role in Gumapang Ka Sa Lusak and is still waiting for the results.

As of now, the only sure projects for the Starstruck V survivors is Party Pilipinas.

Claudine on Juday being called "Reyna ng Teleserye": "kaming dalawa ni Juday 'yon."

Claudine made some interesting statements in her interview published on pep. Here are some of her HOT lines:

On Juday being called, "Reyna ng Teleserye"

"No, hindi po sumama ang loob ko. Basta ang alam ko, kaming dalawa ni Juday 'yon. I really don't dwell on it. Nabigla rin siguro sila sa biglang paglipat ko. Deserving po naman talaga si Juday sa title na Reyna ng Teleserye."

On why she transferred

"Gusto ko pa ring mag-grow as an actor. It's been one year and three months na wala akong ginagawa. Feeling ko, para akong nabobo. Parang hindi na ako makaka-memorize ng script kung hindi pa ako magtatrabaho."

Was it hard?

"Hindi naman ako nahirapang lumipat dahil kilala ko na ang mga boss dito [sa GMA-7] dahil kay Raymart. Madalas din silang nagdi-dinner sa bahay kapag inimbita ni Raymart. Saka nakaranas na rin akong makapagtrabaho dito dahil naige-guest ako sa shows ng asawa ko paminsan-minsan."

What are her expectations from GMA?

"Alam kong magiging masaya ako dito. Mas marami akong makakatrabaho, mas marami akong mata-tackle na roles, bagong directors na hindi ko pa nakatrabaho. Sa ngayon kasi, may 26 weeks na silang in-offer sa akin. Bale six months at baka maging one year pa ito. Bukod sa drama, mayroon ding comedy, suspense-thriller, romantic-comedy, action-drama."

"Masaya dahil alam kong maraming magkakaroon ng trabaho. Gusto ko ring makatrabaho sina Dingdong Dantes, Dennis Trillo, Marian Rivera, Iza Calzado... Tama na muna sa akin ang drama anthology para may time naman ako na gumawa rin ng movie."

Well, we hope you'll stay happy there, Clau.

Sizzling hot but still cute enough. However, we hope the show remains to be relevant and will not fall back into the comfort zone of cheap romance. What do you think?

ABS-CBN releases statement on their Ratings!

Here's the press release from abs-cbn.com:

More Filipinos tuned in to ABS-CBN shows in all parts of the country from sign-on to sign-off, weekdays to weekend in February 2010.

ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation, the country's largest multimedia conglomerate, has captured Mega Manila TV ratings with an audience share of 38.2 percent in February 2010, beating rival station GMA Network Inc.'s 38.1 percent, based on audience measurement surveys conducted by global media specialist TNS (Taylor Nelson Sofres).

ABS-CBN Head of Research and Business Analysis Vivian Tin attributed the success in winning Mega Manila to its increasing audience share in Metro Manila, beating competition by four percentage points last month. ABS-CBN's audience share in Metro Manila to 40 percent in February 2010 from 36 percent in the same period last year, whereas GMA experienced a drop in its audience share to 36 percent in February 2010 from 40 percent in the same period last year.

Tin said the other factors that contributed to strong showing in Mega Manila include efforts to provide quality programs and improve its reception in the area. ABS-CBN's Mega Manila audience share grew to 38.2 percent in February 2010 from 34 percent in the same month last year, whereas GMA's share shrunk to 38.1 percent in February 2010 from 43 percent in the same period last year.

Overall, ABS-CBN continues to be the national leader by reaching more Filipino households in all parts of the country making it the top choice of advertisers for its wide reach. ABS-CBN's audience share in February 2010 hit 48 percent as compared to GMA's 32 percent.

...

ABS-CBN's programs also swept the top 10 slots in the TNS’ overall weekend TV ratings survey.

“PBB Double Up Big Date on the Big Night” held at the Ninoy Aquino stadium took the country by storm and led all weekend programs with a rating of 44.6 percent, the highest weekend program rating reported by TNS since it started releasing national ratings in February 2009.

The country's largest reality-talent search “Pilipinas Got Talent” came in second place with an average rating of 39.1 percent. Its pilot weekend telecasts rated 38.7 percent and 37.5 percent— a performance level that “May Bukas Pa” introduced during weekdays. Its second weekend airing was even more astounding with its Sunday telecast hitting a 43.1% rating, making it the current leader in TNS’ weekend TV ratings survey.

Meanwhile, Korina Sanchez’ magazine program “Rated K” continues to dominate as the top-rating weekend current affairs program with an average rating of 31.3 percent.

Other weekend programs in the Top 10 include “Maalaala Mo Kaya” (31.2%), “Agimat: Alamat ni Ramon Revilla” (29.8%), “Goin Bulilit” (27.9), “The Singing Bee” (27.8), “Pinoy Big Brother Double Up” (26.7%), “Pinoy Power 3” (25.8) and “Wowowee” (24.8).

TNS is a leading market research group in the world with a proven track record in audience research measurement systems in 32 countries. It started releasing its national television audience measurement (NUTAM) data on February 2009 with panels, composed of 1,370 representative households, covering urban Philippines and reporting on seven sectors namely NCR, Suburbs, North Luzon, Central Luzon, South Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

ABS-CBN shifted to TNS after filing a case vs. AGB Nielsen Media Research for failing to comply with its request to investigate alleged cheating and data tampering in TV ratings. The case is still pending in court.

Yeng's got a new show!

Since PBB Double Up Late is now over, it will be replaced by a whole new show called Music Uplate Live which will be hosted by Yeng Constantino.

The show will air on March 15 and will run from Monday to Friday every week.

But hey, this project, even if it's just a small one, did not come easy for Yeng. She said on pep.ph, "Mga two weeks ago, nag-audition po ako. Pumila rin po ako. Marami ang nag-audition for this slot. After po ng day na nag-audition ako, the next day, meron pa ulit. Pero karamihan po ng nag-audition, mga bagong host."

"Siyempre po, hindi naman po ako pinanganak na maging host. Unlike as a composer, bata pa lang po ako, nine years old pa lang po ako, nagsusulat na ako. As a host, malaking bagay po ito para sa akin. Actually, kinakabahan din po ako."

And when she was chosen, she said, "Sumigaw talaga ako! Tinawagan ako ni Ms. Annabelle [Regalado, Star Records head], talagang talon ako nang talon, hindi ako tumigil. Yung totoo, gustung-gusto ko talaga. Gustung-gusto ko talagang gawin 'to dahil gusto ko na rin mag-try ng ibang bagay."

Well, good luck girl. These days, celebrities have to learn more talents in order to stay in the mean world of Showbiz. Look at Sharon Cuneta or even Sarah Geronimo. If all they did was sing, people would have grown tired of them a long time ago.

Diz Iz IT's got one celebrity fan already!

German Moreno wrote in his column in Pilipino Star Ngayon:

O, ‘di ba maganda rin ang Diz Is It! at ipinalalabas na kasabay ng Showtime ng ABS-CBN?

Saan kaya nakukuha ng TAPE ang kanilang mga contestants? Ang gagaling din nila.

Really, Kuya Germs?

Kim gives Gerald a golf cart and LV bag for his birthday!

Wow. These two sure know how to give great gifts. Gerald said on abs-cbn.com, “Binigyan ako ng golf cart. Binigyan (din) ako ng LV bag na napakaganda pero hindi ko gagamitin kasi ire-reserve ko. Idi-display ko na lang kasi sayang, napakaganda.”

Kim also organized a party for Gerald which was attended by Rayver Cruz, Matt Evans, Jay-R Siaboc and other friends. Gerald said, “Nagset-up siya ng karaoke, kulang na lang clowns. Sobrang ganda talaga.”

Sobrang bait niya.”

Gerald also spent some time with Cancer patients on his birthday. If you’re blessed, try to bless other people. Kung kaya mong gawin, work hard, receive hard, share hard.”

Well, happy birthday and we hope you stay grounded.

New TV Shows from TV5: Will you watch them?

Here are the upcoming shows from the country's fastest-rising TV network:

1. Paolo Bediones will host a primetime newscast show on TV5 which will be CNN-like but in Tagalog starting March 25. He will also host USI (Under Special Investigation) every Sunday at 5:30 p.m. starting March 15.

2.“5-Star Drama Specila Presents, The Diamond Star” featuring Maricel Soriano will air on March 22. The show will have comedy, drama and horror episodes. It will be pitted against the primetime shows of ABS-CBN and GMA.

3. Papparazzi hosted by Ruffa Gutierrez, DJ Mo Twister and Cristy Fermin will also be launched on April 4 but will not be matched with The Buzz or Showbiz Central. It may be shown in an earlier time.

4. Dolphy's “Mga Kuwento ni Mang Pidol” will also be aired soon on TV5 at a still unrevealed timeslot. It will be a sitcom with a twist.

Hmm. It will take a long time for TV5 to be able to compete really well with the primetime shows, News and Current Events or the Sunday Talk shows of ABS-CBN and GMA. They will do much better by coming up with really great shows and putting them in timeslots where the two networks are weak like Saturday afternoon (old FPJ films and Wish Ko Lang can easily be defeated by a fun new show).

What do you think?
