Will you go see Aljur Abrenica's Sexy First Concert?

On March 26, Aljur Abrenica will hold his first concert in Zirkoh Tomas Morato. And since he's not really popular for his singing, he'll try to lure audiences with a sexy theme. The half-naked poster and the show's title "I'm Yours" would give you the idea.

He said on pep.ph, "Iniimbitahan ko po kayo na manood ng aking first major concert. Sa March 26 po 'yan. It's a hot Friday night at 10 p.m. Sa inyong sa inyo po ako, I'm Yours. May mga special guest po ako. Sana makarating kayo dahil kakaibang Aljur po ang makikita n'yo rito."

Hmm. What could be the "kakaiba" thing he's talking about. We've already seen him in trunks. Will he go a little further?

Yeng's got a new show!

Since PBB Double Up Late is now over, it will be replaced by a whole new show called Music Uplate Live which will be hosted by Yeng Constantino.

The show will air on March 15 and will run from Monday to Friday every week.

But hey, this project, even if it's just a small one, did not come easy for Yeng. She said on pep.ph, "Mga two weeks ago, nag-audition po ako. Pumila rin po ako. Marami ang nag-audition for this slot. After po ng day na nag-audition ako, the next day, meron pa ulit. Pero karamihan po ng nag-audition, mga bagong host."

"Siyempre po, hindi naman po ako pinanganak na maging host. Unlike as a composer, bata pa lang po ako, nine years old pa lang po ako, nagsusulat na ako. As a host, malaking bagay po ito para sa akin. Actually, kinakabahan din po ako."

And when she was chosen, she said, "Sumigaw talaga ako! Tinawagan ako ni Ms. Annabelle [Regalado, Star Records head], talagang talon ako nang talon, hindi ako tumigil. Yung totoo, gustung-gusto ko talaga. Gustung-gusto ko talagang gawin 'to dahil gusto ko na rin mag-try ng ibang bagay."

Well, good luck girl. These days, celebrities have to learn more talents in order to stay in the mean world of Showbiz. Look at Sharon Cuneta or even Sarah Geronimo. If all they did was sing, people would have grown tired of them a long time ago.

It's not Charice; It's Arnel Pineda!

Yup. The Journey frontman has announced that he will be the one to sing the National Anthem in Pacquaio's fight this Sunday.

Hmm. We're unsure about this. We know Arnel is good when it comes to rock but the Lupang Hinirang is not rock at all. Well, good luck.

Charice to sing the National Anthem in Pacquaio-Clottey fight: About time Pacman!

It's not Jay-R! Pacquaio finally chose Charice to sing the Philippine national anthem in his fight against Clottey on March 13.

And we agree! There's no better choice right now. Right?

P.S. Somebody please tell Charice to keep it simple and just stay with the original version.

La Diva to stage an "Intimate" concert; You like?

SOP's singing trio will go one step further to get more attention this time becoming sexier in their first ever Valentine's day concert called Intimately La Diva tonight at 8:30 p.m. in One Esplanade Mall of Asia Complex.

Pretty unpopular venue and not so HOT concert title.

Anyway, the three are looking gorgeous in the above pic. A huge improvement from their usual get-up on SOP which looked like rented gowns from some cheap gown rental shop.

Will you go watch La Diva tonight? Do you even like the idea?

We'd rather stay at home to watch THE BIG NIGHT! For sure, there will be a press release about this concert being a BIG HIT tomorrow on SOP. Maybe they'll even say that MOA was full to the brim of La Diva fans. LOL.

Aljur Abrenica has started recording his first album; Will it be another flop or a possible hit?

Yes. GMA's prince is planning to jump start his singing career through his first album. He said on pep.ph: "Nagre-recording na ako, nag-start na kami. May mga revivals, tapos medyo alternative siya; four revivals, anim na original. Meron din akong mga sariling composition. Si Arnel Pineda [lead vocalist of Journey], hinihingan namin ng kanta, pag-uusapan pa. Hindi pa rin namin napapag-usapan yung title pati yung carrier single."

Err. we're not sure about this. He's not really well-known for his singing talent. His last movie was a big flop. His latest soap, The Last Prince can't even maintain a respectable lead over its ABS-CBN counterpart in Mega Manila. It's even doing worse in the National ratings.

What we think? Aljur is only hot because he IS HOT. As in physically. If that hotness will entice people to buy his album, we don't know.

Have you seen Pink's AMAZING Grammy Performance?

Wow. Now that's entertainment! We'll see who can do something like that first here in the Philippines. C'mon, singing in the center of the stage is so old! Pinoy concert artists should start getting creative and daring. Right?

Basta kami, we try to do our best na lang."

Bong Godinez reported on pep.ph about Jaya's comments regarding SOP. We're not sure if SOP fans will take it well but we think there's really something wrong with that show. Here's what Jaya said:

"We are going through something. Kaming mga talents, we're as confused as whoever. Kasi binago 'yong format, so hindi talaga namin alam kung anong pakiramdam ng viewers. Let's face it, it's not really rating as well as it used to."

"Ang masasabi ko lang sana maakit namin ulit ang mga viewers because obviously, the other show [ABS-CBN's ASAP XV] is also very nice. And I also watch that show kasi siyempre gusto ko ring makita kung anong kaibahan sa amin."

"We used to sing well on put-together numbers. We used to have Basil [Valdez] come in, we used to have tiny orchestra. Bigay mo lang kung anong hindi makita ng tao sa Araneta [Coliseum] o ibang concert venues. Hindi ko din alam kung anong mali. Basta kami, we try to do our best na lang."

SOP Cover Girls: You like?

They are Carla Abellana, Lovi Poe, Heart Evangelista, Bianca King and Glaiza de Castro. They're all sexy and beautiful. In fact some of them can really sing. But do you like them?

We think for comparison's sake, they can be pitted against ASAP's It Girls consisting of Bea Alonzo, Anne Curtis, Maja Salvador, Iya Villania, and Shaina Magdayao.

Now this will be some fierce competition since ASAP's It Girls have good girl images thanks to their bida roles while most some of the SOP Cover Girls have bad girl mode due to their kontrabida roles. Bea Alonzo and Anne Curtis are also bigger stars than the Cover Girls.

Since they are still starting, let's give the SOP Cover Girls a chance. We think they have what it takes to be as good and even better than the It Girls. They should do away with the lip synching though. That way, they will have a big advantage over ASAP's forever lip synching It Girls.

However, they need to level up on poise, projection, energy and stage presence. These are the strengths of the It Girls.

Who do you like better?

Sorry dreamers,YRS is too much for La Diva!

After seeing YRS' Elvis Presley performance a while ago with Gary V., we just have to say once and for all that they should not be compared to La Diva. Yeng, Rachelle, and Sarah are way too talented, too popular, and too successful for La Diva.

Sure La Diva may have something to say when it comes to voice quality but when it comes to stage presence, appeal, and overall impact, YRS is the clear winner.

La Diva will should be matched to the threesome of Laarni Lozada, Sheryn Regis and Auriette Divina. What do you think?

Kris Lawrence is South Border's newest Vocalist!

Finally a breather from just being Katrina Halili's boyfriend. Although Kris is doing good enough on his own, we think he'll do better with a well-established band like South Border. Plus, his voice is not too different from the band's past vocalists. Kris Lawrence was a product of ABS-CBN's Star in a Million but is now an SOP regular.

SOP's La Diva will finally release an album and music video!

In an interview with iGMA, Maricris Garcia said, "Finally, after a long, long time, eto na magkakaroon na ng album at lalabas na siya so, syempre fulfilling din 'yung feeling kasi pinaghirapan namin eh. Medyo madugo ang pinagdaanaan namin at eto na!"

Their carrying single is called "Kasiping Ka" and they will have their first major solo concert, entitled Only La Diva.

Will you buy their CD or go to their concert?
