Babe, I Love You: We Like!

Although we feared that this movie will be CORNY and uber shallow, we were relieved when we finally saw it. Yup there were some cheesy parts which we had to endure (but the rest of the audience quite enjoyed), we think the movie is worth the ticket price.

Nothing award-winning here though. Sam and Anne's acting were good. We are quite unsure about Sam's crying scenes though. We felt the emotion but it seemed awkward because of his rather funny pronunciation of Tagalog words. However, his good looks more than compensated for it. Believe us, Sam looked perfectly HOT and handsome in the movie. Girls in the cinema where we watched were so "kinilig" with his looks. Anne looked equally beautiful too.

The story is nice. You'll have to watch it to know what we mean.

Spoiler alert! We loved how the movie showed the plight of young Filipino adults. One who is well-educated and the other who had no college education. Anne's character is very common nowadays. She is a young woman who gets almost degrading jobs which require showing lots of skin and being extra-flirty to customers just to sell their products and even ending up sleeping with their customers for extra money.

I think it's how you see the movie that will affect how you judge it. We chose to look deeper into their characters in order to fully enjoy the movie and get something out of it. But if you don't think while you're watching, all you'll see is a usual romantic comedy.

Thoughts?

"Miss You Like Crazy" earned 115 Million in 2 weeks: Not Bad!

The John Lloyd-Bea movie got 67.6 Million in its First week and another 27.6 Million on its second week. All in all, the movie's two-week gross is more than 115 million. Refer HERE.

How's that? This would put pressure both on the upcoming Sam-Anne and Dingdong-Marian movies.

Are you excited for "You To Me Are Everything?"

Marian and Dingdong will start shooting their new movie today. They will be joined by Isabel Oli, Sandy Andolong, Manilyn Reynes, AJ Dee and other stars.

The movie entitled, "You To Me Are Everything," will be directed by Mark Reyes and was written by Aloy Adlawan.

We're not loving the title. Cheesy eh?

The production people should be careful. Serious romantic flicks are not that strong these days. Even Star Cinema's Miss You Like Crazy was not that big of a hit. Hmm.

Piolo Pascual: Kimmydora 3 is in the works!

We all loved the breakout indie movie right? Automatically, we're also excited for the Part two. But wait, there will be no Part two!

Piolo Pascual and the rest of the people behind Kimmydora are planning to make a Part 3 instead of 2. He explained on abs-cbn.com, “Para diretso na sa finale. Kung may part two pa kasi parang dikit lang dun sa one. Tinapos na namin agad. Adik ‘yung direktor e! (referring to Joyce Bernal) Ha ha ha! Definitely continuation pa rin siya ng story. Pero marami pa kaming gustong i-explore. Baka may out-of-the-country shoot kami. We’re still studying if magagawa siya. Expect to see more funny scenes from Uge (Eugene).”

“We’re still waiting for Chris Martinez to deliver the script. Uge and all of us e naka-standby. Marami na rin kasing investors ang nakaabang. Same production team pa rin but not the same cast na. Si Uge lang ang matitira because of course siya ‘yung bida. Lahat kami excited na sa project.”

We can't wait. In fact, we're more excited for this than for Piolo's next movie with Star Cinema. How 'bout you?

Babe, I Love You Trailer: You like?

We love it so much! This is what a good romantic comedy should be. If this will be shown alongside Marian and Dingdong's, there's gotta be no competition.

Babe, I Love You for the win!

Nakaka.. excite!

Movie Review: Miss You Like Crazy

We just saw the movie and here's what we think.

If you're a fan of Bea,John Lloyd, and the Kapamilya network, you'll surely enjoy the movie. Bea and John Lloyd's performances were great as usual. They have CRAZY kissing scenes here! The story is not extraordinary but there were really interesting parts. We love the way the Pasig river (in its recovery stage) was inserted. We loved the stones detail. The lines were also cute.

But if you're not fond of romantic movies, you might as well save your money. This movie is all about relationships and love. There were some bits and pieces about family and career but really, the movie is centered on the two characters' love story. Nothing much about other things.

Sadly, this movie is not very memorable or remarkable. However, we think it served its purpose. Its just something you watch to feel good, to emote, to escape the dullness of everyday life. It's something couples would enjoy watching.

The movie is also very current because Bea is an HRM graduate who works in Malaysia. Many Filipinos will relate to this because many of us know one or two HRM students and graduates.

P.S. We like the trailer for Anne and Sam's Babe, I Love You. We couldn't find it in youtube yet though! :D

Miss You Like Crazy earns 18M on first day!

Star Cinema's second movie for 2010 premiered well yesterday with approximately 18M according to a source from Star Cinema. We haven't really seen the movie yet but we'll try to watch it tomorrow. And then we'll tell you what we think!

For now, for those who've seen it already, will you recommend it?

Dingdong and Marian to do a romantic-comedy movie for March!

The biggest loveteam of the Kapuso network will be doing a movie under GMA films and Regal. Shooting will start on March under the direction of Mark Reyes. There's still no definite date of launching but Nitz Miralles of PSN says "agad ipalalabas dahil alam ng mga producers na matagal nang naghihintay ang mga fans ng dalawa."

Hmm. Wasn't it reported last year that the two will make a Valentine's movie which will be pitted against John Lloyd and Bea? Hmm. Anne and Sam's movie will also be shown around that time. Nice competition.

P.S. Mike Tuviera, the supposed director for Marian's shelved project Nieves says the movie will push through within this year. He did not say anything about Marian still being the lead star.

Paano Na Kaya earns 77.5 million; Miss You Like Crazy premieres today!

Paano Na Kaya earned a good enough amount of 77.5 million in three weeks according to box-office mojo. This may still increase because of the many other cinemas from other parts of the country that BOM does not monitor. The point now is, KIMERALD is not as strong as John Lloyd-Sarah whose two movies went beyond the 150 Million mark.

Paano Na Kaya will be replaced in the cinemas today by another Star Cinema Movie, "Miss You Like Crazy". This is John Lloyd and Bea's reunion movie after "One More Chance". The question now is, will "Miss You Like Crazy" be as suuccessful as the Sarah-John Lloyd movies?

We don't think so. But still, there's a chance, right?

Claudine pairs up with Richard Gutierrez for her new movie; Are you excited?

Err, there will actually be three main stars because Anne Curtis is also inlcuded in the cast. Starmometer.com said Claudine made this tweet yesterday: “I’m at GMA for our story conference and presentation ng anthology. Yes, I’m doing a movie with Anne Curtis and Richard Gutierrez. The story
is beautiful so trust me co’z I am very hands on and choosy in choosing my movies and scripts very well kaya nga matagal ako bago gumawa ng movie because I really choose the best scripts. Di yung tanggap lang ng tanggap. Its really new. Basta di ko ma-explain, ganda ng script.”

The movie will be entitled 'In Your Eyes' and will be produced by Viva and GMA Films.

Sure, the three have made some hit movies in the past but their best movies were under Star Cinema. We're not sure if their movie under GMA Films will do well. What do you think?

Paano Na Kaya earns 66.3 million by second week!

Kimerald's movie has earned a total of 1,436,843 dollars as of Feb 7 according to box office mojo. And as of February 17, the exchange rate is at 46.115 pesos per dollar according to inquirer.net. That means the movie has earned roughly 66.2 million pesos!

And that's still about to go higher as the movie is still showing in many cinemas throughout the country.

That puts Kimerald another step farther from other young loveteams of today.

Paano Na Kaya rules Box Office for Jan27-31; earns 41.4 Million in its First Week!

It's official: Paano Na Kaya is a Box Office Hit! International company Box Office Mojo has released the box office results in major Philippine Cinemas for the week of Jan 27-31 and KIMERALD's movie is No.1 followed by foreign flicks like Legion, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, The Tooth Fairy, Avatar and others.

It's important to note though that Box Offixe Mojo's results do not include many of the cinemas out of Manila so the real earnings of the movie are expected to be more than 41 million.

Congratulations KIMERALD. Now it will be foolish to compare Alkris and Kimerald. The two loveteams are SO NOT in the same level.

AlKris' Nandito Ako fails to enter top 100 movies in the Philippines for 2009!

Unlike what some confused fanatics believe, GMA films or movies with predominantly Kapuso stars did not do very well in the Box Office last year. Well, not as good as Star Cinema movies. Star Cinema's lowest grossing movie, Villa Estrella which only starred ABS-CBN's rising stars such as Shaina and Maja got an acceptable $966,552 earnings.

It defeated movies by the BIGGEST STARS OF GMA such as Richard Gutierrez' Patient X ($525,732), Marian Rivera's Tarot ($375,221), and Vic Sotto's LOL -Love on Line($311,692).

And oh, was AlKris' Nandito Ako in the Top 100? No sir.
