In order to win the presidency, Barack Obama had tp borrow star power from giant US celebrities like Oprah Winfrey. Same is true here in the Philippines. As the political circus plays on, we are noticing that politicians are clinging to celebrities in order to gain more popularity.
Manny Villar has Willie, Noynoy Aquino has Kris, Kiko Pangilinan has Sharon, and Mar Roxas has Korina.
It also seems that politicians are more fond of getting support from ABS-CBN stars compared to those from GMA. As of this time, only Dingdong Dantes has been openly tapped by a presidentiable.
Does this mean ABS-CBN stars are more powerful than Kapuso celebs?

ReplyDeleteIs there even any doubt that any of those Kapuso "stars" had no means of being powerful? I'm even surprised that pseudo-actor Dingdong was chosen by Noynoy. Even Richard Gomez lost his lustre in that god-forsaken station, and is now under negotiations yet again with Star Cinema for a worthy movie.
