ABS-CBN soap operas continue to be shown in more places abroad!

The unforgettable love story of Yna and Angelo is fascinating millions of people abroad as the ABS-CBN soap opera continues to be sold to other countries. In fact, Pangako Sa'Yo or The Promise is being watched by around 1.3 Billion Chinese at present! The show is now 10 years old but is still being aired in China, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Cambodia!

According to Reena de Guzman Garingan as posted on pep.ph, "We have proven that the Pinoy brand of work is really one of a kind, and something you all should be proud of as Filipinos. Gusto niyo bang mapanood ang French Version ng Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay? In English, it's called The Long Way; and in French, it's called La Longue Attente. So, maganda bang pakinggan? We have carefully done it in many languages..."

She shared that 30 ABS-CBN shows are being sold to "15 countries in Asia, 5 countries in Europe, 12 in French-speaking African countries, 20 English-speaking African countries, and 5 Portuguese-African countries."

The most recently sold ones are Tayong Dalawa or The Two of Us (which was sold in Malaysia, Brunei, and Kenya), Lobo or She-Wolf: The Last Sentinel, and Dahil May Isang Ikaw or Destined Heart.

These facts make us PROUD to be Filipinos! It's like we're showing the world that our craft can also capture the hearts of audiences in other countries!

And oh yeah, it proves that ABS-CBN shows are really of HIGH quality. Let's see what GMA fans will say about this.

Charice to sing the National Anthem in Pacquaio-Clottey fight: About time Pacman!

It's not Jay-R! Pacquaio finally chose Charice to sing the Philippine national anthem in his fight against Clottey on March 13.

And we agree! There's no better choice right now. Right?

P.S. Somebody please tell Charice to keep it simple and just stay with the original version.

Do you miss her?

We do. But don't fret, we'll be seeing Jan Di or Koo Hye Sun on Rated K this Sunday.

But before that, Melai will be making more buzz by guesting on Ted Failon's Failon Ngayon on Saturday.

Can't wait.

Robert Pattinson: "I'm allergic to vagina!"

Your favorite Twilight star joked on the set of his photoshoot with Details magazine, "I really hate vaginas. I'm allergic to vagina. It was a 12-hour shoot, so you kind of get the picture that these women are going to stay naked after, like, 5 or 6 hours.

"But I wasn't exactly prepared. I had no idea what to say to them. Thank God I was hungover."

And then seriously, he admitted he has a hard time with girls. He said, "The only emotional connection of relevance is with my dog. My relationship with my dog, it's ridiculous."

Cute!

Simon Cowell will leave American Idol next year!

This is bad news for American Idol fans. Albeit the most loved and hated American Idol judge will no longer be with the show next season.

He said in an interview, "I was offered a lot of money to stay on. But that wasn't the reason behind it. I wanted to do something different. I wanted a new challenge."

Cowell will focus on Britain's "The X Factor" which he owns. The X Factor has produced great pop singers like Leona Lewis.

TV critics predict a decrease in American Idol's ratings next season. The show remains to be America's top-rated program. But will it go down when Cowell leaves?

We're not sure. Although Fox will surely have a hard time replacing him. Got any ideas?

We wish another Pinoy will be in the show! This season will be exciting with the addition of Ellen Degeneres taking the place of Paula Abdul and the appearance of several guest judges.

Angel didn't win the award but ruled the red carpet!

She might have lost to UK actress Julie Walters, more commonly known to us as Mrs. Weasley on the hit “Harry Potter” movies but Angel still made some noise in NYC after getting the loudest cheer on the red carpet.

Well, she deserves the attention. She's just beautiful!

Oprah will end "The Oprah Show" in 2011. The world is stunned!

Yes. The queen of talk will end her 25-year old talk show empire in 2011 and will also be leaving Chicago.

That's a big announcement since Oprah practically dominates US Daytime TV. There are many rumors about the reasons for this but there are also a lot of rumors on what she plans to do next. Even the Chicago City mayor is affected by her leaving. She's a BIG loss for the windy city.

We love Oprah. We hate to know that the show will be ending but we're excited for what Oprah's plans are. She's a great woman. We're surely find a great reason and result for this BIG move.

How much does it take to have a kiss from R-Patz? About one million pesos!

But you can have for free if you do what this fan did. Escape the guards and kiss his Hotness. In the Cinema Against AIDS event in Cannes, Robert put two kisses on the cheek up for auction. The winning bid? 20,000 US dollars per kiss! That's more than 900,000 pesos by today's exchange rate!

Anyway, New Moon is rumored to be shown here in the Philippines starting Nov.20. But IMDb.com has no definite New Moon playdate for the Philippines yet.

Here are photos of him in the movie:

Rudy Hatfield proves people can really change!

He's now a missionary in the US!
Rudy, who is now living happily in the US with his wife Bethany and two kids (the older one is Bethany's daughter from a previous relationship), is now part of the Megacity Ministries, Inc.

So what can he say about his new life? Here's a cut from his interview with Pep:
"Now I am helping out spread the good words of the Lord. I've been with this missionary group for almost a year now and we've been giving inspirational talks to the youth and different people all over the US and in other countries as well. The experience of all of this has made me a better man than before. I am a much happier man now and more fulfilled. I might have fame before but I was so empty and didn't know where to go. Now I know where the light is."

We salute you for that dude!

We're not so happy with OUR COUNTRY getting only 8 nominations while Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia and other countries got more! In the nominations, GMA got 3 plus one from its sister station, QTV. ABS-CBN also got 3 and Solar Entertainment got one.

Here are the nominees from the Philippines:
Best Entertainment Special:
The Pursuit of Style: A Young Designers Special (QTV-11)
Best Entertainment Programme
GMA-7’s Mel and Joey, hosted by Mel Tiangco and Joey de Leon
Best Adaptation of an Existing Format
Project Runway Philippines – Solar Entertainment Corporation
Survivor Philippines (Episode 1) – GMA Network

Pilipinas: Game Ka Na Ba? (Philippines: Are You Game?) of ABS-CBN
Best Current Affairs Programme
