Whew! Here's what we think about Party Pilipinas!

Is it better than SOP?

Yes. It has this more modern, club-like feel which we like better than SOP's fiesta set. The songs and dances are more modern and updated too.

The cast?

We were a bit disappointed. It's the same SOP gang with just a few new faces which aside from Mark Bautista, we didn't really care much about.

XLR8 were not that good in their sing and dance number and Fusion was not really AMAZING. LOL. Vhong Navarro and a lot of Pinoy dancers can do better than him. Accept it.

We loved the addition of the UP and Ateneo dance troupes. It's a great idea but was already thought of by ASAP years ago by inviting the UP pep squad and other groups to dance in their show. We would love it if Party Pilipinas will keep featuring these guys though. They're so fresh and nice to watch.

We loved the song number by Frencheska and that other girl where they sang Yellow by Coldplay. They should do more numbers like that.

All things considered, we think the show is a HUGE improvement for the SOP people. In fact, we watched it more than ASAP's pre-taped Boracay show which was also great and all but there were too many lip synching and bad dancing again. They should remove those annoying stars who can't dance or sing. Or at least just make them do the hosting.

We think Party Pilipinas is one step closer to the level of ASAP but we still have to see the difference next Sunday when ASAP goes back to the studio where they really shine. Party Pilipinas is gonna do a pre-taped episode in Araneta on Tuesday right?

Sigh. We love the idea of having a nice alternative when Ejay Falcon is dancing or the Kapamilya loveteams are looking stupid lip synching on ASAP.

Welcome Party Pilipinas!

P.S. The show has almost all GMA stars but it still lacked the "It" factor. Agree?

Teaser for Dingdong-Marian movie: You Like?

The movie is called You To Me Are Everything. Hmm. Not much of a trailer but we now know its a romantic comedy. Interested?

Are these really GMA's SID for Summer 2010?

GMA has released two videos which seem to be their station ID for this summer. “Sama-Summer Na Sa Kakulitan” for their comedy shows and “Sama-Summer Tayo Sa Pag-ibig” for their dramas. You like?

Err. We hope these are not yet their REAL SID. These ones are too shallow for us. Cute but not much of a Station ID.

Party Pilipinas hires International Choreographer!

This upcoming show from GMA has been generating lots of curiosity because the final cast of the show still not being revealed. However, we're sure that many of the faces we've seen on SOP will also be in Party Pilipinas. In fact, we think the show will still be like SOP.

However, some changes may be seen courtesy of the pressure on the staff and the cast to put up a good show. In fact, they even hired Ruben Monet a.k.s Fusion, an international choreographer who has worked with Beyonce, Akon, P. Diddy, Missy Elliott, Ludacris, Justin Timberlake, Backstreet Boys and Will Smith.

Can't wait to see the show!

Claudine on Juday being called "Reyna ng Teleserye": "kaming dalawa ni Juday 'yon."

Claudine made some interesting statements in her interview published on pep. Here are some of her HOT lines:

On Juday being called, "Reyna ng Teleserye"

"No, hindi po sumama ang loob ko. Basta ang alam ko, kaming dalawa ni Juday 'yon. I really don't dwell on it. Nabigla rin siguro sila sa biglang paglipat ko. Deserving po naman talaga si Juday sa title na Reyna ng Teleserye."

On why she transferred

"Gusto ko pa ring mag-grow as an actor. It's been one year and three months na wala akong ginagawa. Feeling ko, para akong nabobo. Parang hindi na ako makaka-memorize ng script kung hindi pa ako magtatrabaho."

Was it hard?

"Hindi naman ako nahirapang lumipat dahil kilala ko na ang mga boss dito [sa GMA-7] dahil kay Raymart. Madalas din silang nagdi-dinner sa bahay kapag inimbita ni Raymart. Saka nakaranas na rin akong makapagtrabaho dito dahil naige-guest ako sa shows ng asawa ko paminsan-minsan."

What are her expectations from GMA?

"Alam kong magiging masaya ako dito. Mas marami akong makakatrabaho, mas marami akong mata-tackle na roles, bagong directors na hindi ko pa nakatrabaho. Sa ngayon kasi, may 26 weeks na silang in-offer sa akin. Bale six months at baka maging one year pa ito. Bukod sa drama, mayroon ding comedy, suspense-thriller, romantic-comedy, action-drama."

"Masaya dahil alam kong maraming magkakaroon ng trabaho. Gusto ko ring makatrabaho sina Dingdong Dantes, Dennis Trillo, Marian Rivera, Iza Calzado... Tama na muna sa akin ang drama anthology para may time naman ako na gumawa rin ng movie."

Well, we hope you'll stay happy there, Clau.

Richard Gutierrez to host Survivor Season 3!

Rumors are going aroudn saying Richard Gutierrez will be the next host of Survivor. Here is the statement from Jun Lalin of abante-tonite:
mismong mga taga-GMA 7 na ang nagkukuwento sa ibang entertainment press ng tungkol sa pagho-host ni Richard sa Survivor Philippines!
Anyway, ang dinig ko, puro celebrities ang mga kalahok sa bagong season ng Survivor Philippines.
Survivor Celebrity Edition? Will this be shown before PBB's Celebrity Edition? Hmm.

Richard Gutierrez will be a Kapuso for the next three years; will join his twin Raymond in Party Pilipinas!

Richard has just signed a 3-year contract with GMA7. Attorney Gozon-Abrogar said Richard will not only be seen on TV but also in movies. The GMA Films president even said on gmaseven.blogspot.com, “Excited na rin kami because malapit nang magsimula yung shooting ng movie ni Richard and Claudine. So we’re looking forward to that and siyempre, we’re also looking forward to the future TV projects of Richard."

Richard and Raymond will be a part of Party Pilipinas. Hmm. As of now, the only new faces of Party Pilipinas that we know are the Starstruck V products and they have even appeared on SOP before.

Is Family Feud the next Kapuso show to be wiped out?

According to accesspinoy.com, Dingdong Dantes' show will be replaced by the show WIPEOUT starting March 15.

As far as we can remember, Family Feud has been doing well with Richard Gomez as the host but it lost to PHR when Dingdong took over.

The gameshow WIPEOUT is another Endemol owned show which is an American game show series in which contestants compete in what is billed as the "world's largest obstacle course". The series premiered on June 24, 2008 on ABC according to wikipedia.com.

Paolo Contis is the rumored host of the upcoming show. Hey, didn't Paolo Contis host another Philippine version of a US gameshow named My Dad Is Better Than Your Dad before? That show did not do well in the ratings game, right?

Well, good luck.

GMA has a new Sunday line-up with more of Diva and Panday Kids; You like?

Here's the press release from GMA taken from accesspinoy.com:
The Kapuso Network will have a new programming schedule this Sunday, March 7, due to insistent public demand for recently launched Kapuso shows.

The morning will start wild as the talented animals from Zooperstars show off at 9:30 am. There will be more of Zooperkids’ Julian Trono and Sabrina Man as they join Buboy Villar in the recap of Panday Kids from 10:00 am to 12:00 nn.

News and Public Affairs will follow with an encouraging ten-minute special reminding Filipinos of their big role in the 2010 elections, with May Magagawa Tayo.

The Kapuso Movie Festival then begins at 12:10 with the TV premiere of Sundo, a suspense-thriller headlined by action icon Robin Padilla.

Lastly, GMA-7’s fist-ever kantaserye, Diva, will share music and laughter to more people as its pilot week-recap airs from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm.

Don’t miss these Kapuso shows as they air anew this Sunday, March 7, on GMA-7.
Sounds DESPERATE to us. LOL.

What's with the "due to insistent public demand for recently launched Kapuso shows" thing? Everybody knows there is NO INSISTENT PUBLIC DEMAND for the recently laenched GMA shows (Panday Kids and Diva). Heck, we even doubt doubt if there's any PUBLIC DEMAND for these shows. They're losing badly in the ratings game people!

Sigh. This means, ASAP will have to go face-to-face with the Kapuso Movie Festival (which we think will have the same fate that it had when it was pitted to Showtime).

What do you think about this?

Bitoy's Showwwtime will join GMA's list of dead shows soon!

Here's the press release from igma.tv:

Sa tinagal-tagal na rin namang lumalabas sa TV ng ace comedian na si Michael V ay ngayon lang pala siya magkakaroon ng isang sitcom. Ito ay sa pamamagitan ng reality-sitcom ng GMA-7, Pepito Manaloto, na magsisimula na sa March 20. Ang Pepito Manaloto ang papalit sa timeslot na iiwan ng Bitoy's ShoWWWtime na hinu-host ni Michael V.

When asked if Showwwtime's end saddened him, he said, "Hindi naman.

And is he hopeful for his new show? He said, "Very! Hanep ang sagot, e, 'no? Well, kasi hindi pa nagagawa. So, nang makita namin ang chance, we grabbed the opportunity. Baka maunahan pa ng iba, kumalat pa. Maganda kasi yung ikaw ang nagki-create at hindi ka nag-i-imitate."

Tell that to your FRIENDS Bitoy. :D

Are you excited for "You To Me Are Everything?"

Marian and Dingdong will start shooting their new movie today. They will be joined by Isabel Oli, Sandy Andolong, Manilyn Reynes, AJ Dee and other stars.

The movie entitled, "You To Me Are Everything," will be directed by Mark Reyes and was written by Aloy Adlawan.

We're not loving the title. Cheesy eh?

The production people should be careful. Serious romantic flicks are not that strong these days. Even Star Cinema's Miss You Like Crazy was not that big of a hit. Hmm.

Katrina is NOT YET GONE!

Looks like we were wrong. Katrina is still around. In fact, she will be guesting on Show Me Da Manny.

She said on pinoy parazzi.com, “Kaya nga po thankful din po ako sa GMA-7 dahil kahit tapos na po ang Darna, e, hindi pa rin po nila ako nakalilimutang kunin sa kanilang mga regular shows as guest.”

However, there are still no offers from the GMA management regarding a contract.

Well, she could always transfer to TV5, that is, if they want her there. What do you think?

Rhian Ramos looks Seksi on Metro!

GMA's drama princess is beautiful in the cover of Metro's March edition.

Anyway, here's a thing. We don't know why but she seems to be lacking something. Okay, she's got the beauty, the talent, the fame. But she doesn't really come to us as a unique, memorable star. She's like one of those pretty faces who pass and become forgotten after a couple of years. We don't know what it is really. Is it sincerity? Charisma? Character?

When we think of Marian Rivera we think of fast fame and big shows. When we think of Iza Calsado we think of classic, mysterious, dramatic, beauty and underrated but great acting talent. But when it comes to Rhian, all we can think about is a pretty face. Hmm.

We don't know. Maybe it's just us. What do you think?

Dear Friend's My Stalking Heart: Carlo Guevarra's first starring role!

Looks like transferring to GMA is a good move for Be Bench winner Carl(o) Guevarra. He will have his first lead role through Dear Friend's "My Stalking Heart" episode where he will be paired up with Jennica Garcia.

This might not be a really big project but it's big enough for a newcomer like him. Chances like this are very hard to come by in abs-cbn where there are lots and lots of stars, mostly big and already-proven once.

Will you watch this?

Paulo Avelino replaces JC de Vera on Panday Kids!

For those who don't know him, he's one of the finalist of Starstruck 4. Anyway, this might be his biggest break ever. Thanks to JC de Vera's transfer to TV5.

Like most Starstruck graduates, he's got the looks but does he have the talent?

Well, since Panday Kids is not exactly a drama series, we think he can pull off the role. What do you think?

HOT: Diz Iz It gets buried by Showtime!

GMA's answer to Showtime is getting embarrassingly low ratings! In fact it got an unthinkable 5.7% in the National ratings according to TNS last Monday! That's a joke compared to Showtime's 22.7%! That's so SAD.

We smell another replacement!

Another GMA show bids goodbye?

Here's something from Pilipino Star Ngayon's Seen Scene:

Seen : Sina Frencheska Farr at Geoff Taylor ang mga winner ng Are You The Next Big Star?
Looks like THEY'RE NOT THE NEXT BIG STARS after all!

Whew. This is a sad start of the year for GMA. Why are so many shows being replaced? Is it a confirmation that they are losing? Just asking.

This should give an idea to aspiring STARS and SINGERS out there. Pinoy Idol. The Next Big Star. Where are the winners? Compare them to the winners of Pinoy Dream Academy, Little Big Star, Star in a Million.

Do you get our point?

P.S. Good for Jaya she has Diva. But what about for the other Bandaoke stars?

Err. Barbie Forteza says Marian Rivera is her Idol!

On pep.ph, Barbie said she idolizes Marian Rivera and wants to follow her footsteps.

She said, "Kasi yung career niya tuluy-tuloy. Meron siyang soap, movies, may commercials, meron siyang ads." Err. That was then girl. She's not that hot now.

And here's another, Barbie's dream project is to do Marimar and then adds, "Pero gusto ko ring mag-Darna para challenge, aksyon."

Whoa. We're not liking her plans to follow Marian's footsteps and to do the same projects. What, she wants to be the princess of remakes? Marian of course, is the queen.

This girl needs a better role model. What can you say about this?

GMA News' Panata Sa Bayan: You Like?

What GMA lacks in drama, they compensate well in their news and current events department.

We love the "Stop Killing Journalists" logo. Is it really included in the video?

Well, this is quite sad but really, the Philippines remains to be a hotspot for extrajudicial killings which include the murder of many journalists. That's just sad. But what's worse is the fact that very little action is being done about this. Even the Presidential candidates don't have open and concrete plans to fight these extrajudicial killings.

Are You Excited for Diva?

Diva is the story of an ugly woman who's dream is to become a famous singer. Because of her not-so-pleasant features but beautiful voice, her road to fame will be interesting. Add to that some romance with two guys and a string of kontrabidas.

Diva will replace Full House and will start on Monday.

Will you watch the show?
